Our Beliefs

At Truth Church and Ministries, we affirm the following statements with truth through God’s word. While the Bible is our ultimate and sufficient guide for faith and practice, these statements summarize the core teachings that define our beliefs.
God
God is the eternal creator, the omnipotent creator of all things. We believe God exists eternally and equally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; Colossians 2:9, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He rose from the dead on the third day to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended into heaven and will return to earth to reign as King. (Matthew 1:22-23; Romans 1:3-4; Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 4:14-15)
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. He was constantly spoken of and promised by Jesus. We believe the Holy Spirit causes us to be born again and empowers us to be authentic witnesses of Jesus Christ. We believe that he comes to live within the believer to indwell. He lives in every believer from the moment of salvation to indwell, infill, enlighten, empower, lead, guide, correct, convict, and comfort their lives. (John 14:16-18; Ephesians 5:18; Romans 8:15; Acts 1:8, Titus 3:5, John 3:5-6-8)
Salvation
Salvation is deliverance from sin and its consequences, made possible by grace, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is received by faith, repentance, and confession, resulting in forgiveness, a restored relationship with God, and a promise of eternal life. It is God’s gift to humanity but as is the case with any gift, it must be received. John 3:16, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6, Acts 2:38 (1 Timothy 2:5; Romans 10:9-10)
Baptism
We believe that Baptism is the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is an outward expression of an inward transformation and is seen as a public declaration of faith and commitment to follow our Lord and Savior. Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3-4, Colossians 2:12, Matthew 28:19-20)
The Bible
The Bible is more than just a book; it is the revelation of God’s truth, his plan for salvation, and the foundation for understanding God’s will and purposes in the world. We believe what the Bible says about itself which is inspired by God. It is a collection of writings by human authors under the Holy Spirit's authority and guidance. It is to be interpreted according to its context and purpose and when “rightly divided” it is the ultimate authority for our faith, our lives, and the practices of our church. (Matthew 22:29; 2 Timothy 3:15-16; Romans 15:4)
Giving
We believe that tithes, offerings, and alms are God’s financial plan for the support of His work. We believe that giving reflects our trust in God, our love for his work, and our desire to bless others. (Leviticus 27:30; Malachi 3:10; Matthew 23:23; 2 Corinthians 9:6-12)
Church Discipline
We believe that discipline is a gift from God given to His church to promote its health and productivity. We believe it is essential for growth, maintaining a strong relationship with God and fulfilling the calling of Christ. It involves consistent effort, obedience, and accountability both personally and within the community of believers. When a believer falls into sin, the church will practice corrective discipline to restore that person in love. (Matthew 18:15-20; Proverbs 3:11-12, I Corinthians 5:1-13, Galatians 6:1
Marriage
We believe that marriage is a sacred, God-ordained covenant relationship between a man and a woman designed for companionship, love, and mutual support. It is a reflection of the relationship between Christ and the church that requires commitment, respect, sacrificial love, and faithfulness. The marriage relationship is designed by God to be fruitful and to multiply within the earth. (Genesis 2:24; Genesis 1:28; Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:22-33; Ephesians 5:31-32; Hebrews 13:4)
